The New Leaders Council Institute is the premier leadership and professional development, training, mentoring, networking, and career and political advancement program for young professionals.
Applications for the 2017 NLC Institute are open from June 1st to November 14th, 2016. The 2017 Institute will begin in January, 2017.
An intense, five-month progressive entrepreneurship training program, our Institute is highly-selective, admitting only 15 to 20 fellows to each program. The typical NLC Fellow is a successful risk-taker and a progressive advocate.
Over 40 NLC chapters across the nation hold an NLC Institute each year.
The NLC Institute, our flagship program, is the nation’s premier leadership and political entrepreneurship training program for young professionals.

This is subject to change as we plan the curriculum for the 2017 Institute, but Fellows will be given plenty of notice to make accommodations in their schedules.
Applications for the 2017 Institute are open from June 1st to November 14th, 2016.
Applications are online at omaha.newleaderscouncil.org and require a resume and completion of essay questions and a leadership aptitude test. The application fee is $30.
The NLC Institute is free to participants, thanks to a combination of local and national funding sources, including an annual chapter fundraiser. Accepted applicants are required to make a $200 deposit, which is then returned after graduation from the Institute.
To successfully graduate and have your deposit returned, Fellows must be present for the January weekend and can only be absent 16 total hours throughout the rest of the Institute. The attendance policy is strictly monitored and enforced — in such a small group setting, it is important to your fellow Fellows that you are present!
