Leading up to our Progressing the Good Life event on June 8, we will be introducing the 2018 fellows. Today, we meet Jaymes Sime.
I am a high energy nonprofit executive who has worked in juvenile justice, child welfare, and homelessness. Bringing passion to my work is something I pride myself on. I believe in the potential in all people, and try to advocate for those I serve.
New Leaders Council has provided a tremendous opportunity for me to continue my personal and professional growth, and I am consistently trying to better myself.
I have learned that I still have a lot to learn. The beauty of being exposed to people with different passions, backgrounds, ideas, and expertise is that you are able to learn by diving right in. I look forward to continue learning from my peers, and take that knowledge and apply it moving forward.
I grew up in Burlington, IA. Home of the Crookedest Street in the World. Yes, that's right, I said it, eat that Lombard Street.
My capstone project is expanding Electric Executive - a business that I started after consistently getting feedback about my passion, energy, and enthusiasm. Last year, it started as a blog, and this year it will be so much more. As I look around me, I find very few people living life with these qualities on full display. My ELT group has been very supportive of the idea, and things are picking up a rapid pace.
