Leading up to the graduation of our 2017 Fellows, we will be introducing you to members of the 2017 class. Let's get to know Rebecca Armstrong Langle.
I was born and raised in Omaha. I have my bachelor's degree in political science from UNL and my master's of public administration from UNO. I currently work in fundraising at the Nebraska Humane Society, where I get to help voiceless animals every day. I am passionate about improving the Omaha community, making it a better place to live and work for all people.
I was excited to be involved in a leadership group that also pushes our community to be better. I knew some graduates of the program who spoke very highly of the program and its outcomes, and I wanted to be a part of it!
I got more out of this than I ever thought I would. Each session has been memorable. I have learned technical skills, empathy, and made great new friends.
I love Omaha because of it's uniqueness. There is no city like Omaha. It's affordable, yet there are so many things to do. I know that our city definitely has its challenges, but I love that there are so many people that are willing to step up to the plate to initiate change.
Support Rebecca and all of NLC by attending "Why We Love Omaha: An NLC Fundraiser" on June 8. Buy tickets today at http://omaha.newleaderscouncil.org/2017_fellows_event.
