New Leaders Council

Meet our 2017 fellows: Dave Sund

Leading up to the graduation of our 2017 fellows, we will be introducing you to members of the 2017 class. Let's meet Dave Sund.

Tell us a little about yourself.  IMG_4942.jpg

I'm an attorney and political consultant in Omaha, and have been active in progressive politics since 2006. I'm an alum of UNO and Creighton, and from 2009-2013 was a policy analyst for Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle.

What attracted you to the New Leaders Council?

I knew a few members of NLC through college and politics, and they were so enthusiastic about NLC that I knew I had to apply. I was looking forward to meeting a new group of people who care deeply about progressive issues.

What have you gotten out of the fellowship?

I think the biggest takeaway I have from the fellowship are the nineteen other fellows I have gone through the Institute with. We all bring our own diverse perspectives to the table which has led to interesting and productive conversations.

Why do you love Omaha?

I love Omaha because of the people who live here. We can talk about the attractions, events, nightlife, or establishments in Omaha, but none of it means anything without the people who make it worth staying and investing in our community. Omaha is home.
